Strawberry Peanut Butter Smoothie

I am telling you, there is nothing better out there at the moment, than fresh strawberries. So sweet, rich, juicy… you just can’t say no to them. I am still waiting for strawberries in my garden to grow bigger, but few days ago I bought nice bunch of them from local strawberry farm.


The choice was huge, but I remember from last year one particular strain. Ava rosa. Heaven in your mouth. They are literally melting in your mouth and they are the sweetest strawberries I have ever tested.


I was lucky enough to get my hands on “Ava Rosa’ strawberries last weekend. They taste exactly like I have remembered.

I have to admit, I am addicted to strawberries and literally can eat whole box in one go. They are safe, zero calories pleasure with many benefits.

I could go and go about them. I have decided to try two layer mix. First one to hydrate, detox and anti-inflammatory – strawberry based. It is combination of strawberries, few basil leaves and banana. Basil is my extra anti-inflammatory ingredient. Its role is to revitalise me, boost my energy and metabolism, hydrate and reduce inflammation.

Second layer, is nuts based. I mixed banana, almond milk and some peanut butter.

This layer would give me strength, provide me with protein and feed my muscles so they can grow. It will also keep me full for long time, so there is slim chance of snacking.



Strawberry layer;


  • 1 cup of fresh strawberries
  • ½ banana
  • Handful of fresh basil leaves


Peanut butter layer;


  • 1 cup of almond milk
  • 1 banana
  • 1 tablespoon of peanut butter




  • Put all the ingredients from strawberry layer list into blender. Blend together for 30 seconds and pour into glass.
  • Now put ingredients for peanut butter layer and blend. Pour into the glass.
  • Decorate with fresh basil and strawberries.
