Lemonade
Get ready for summer with his zesty and yet sweet lemonade.
Summer is just few weeks away which means vacations are coming! Hot, sunny days, kids laughing and all the family having a lot of fun every day. My kids are so excited about the summer and their heads are full of play ideas. They never, ever stay still. They are in constant move, exploring and learning. Are your kids the same? Are they adventure seekers?
Dear moms you know well how hard it is to get your kids to eat or drink something when they are busy playing. I have come with a brilliant idea. I encourage my little ‘angels” to create their own snacks or food all by themselves. That way I am sure they will eat and drink because they always want to eat their own creations.
Recently we had few warm days and kids went wild outdoor. One day they created their own lemonade. They washed lemons, peeled lemon zest, squished lemon juice and prepared honey.
Here is how to prepare your own healthy and light lemonade;
What you need;
- 5 large lemons
- 5 tablespoons of honey
- 4 cups of ice
- 1,6 L of sparkling or still water
- Handful of fresh mint
Preparation;
- Wash lemons and peel your lemons with vegetable peeler.
- Cut them in halves and squeeze juice into bowl.
- Put fresh lemon juice and lemon zest into small saucepan, add 3 cups of water and bring to boil. Shimmer for 10-15 minutes. When ready take it of the heat and put it on side to cool down.
- After 15 minutes add honey and stir until honey dissolves.
- Take a sieve and pour your lemonade through it into juice jug
- At the end, add lemon slices, ice and some fresh mint.
